Slingshot Artist Productions was formed to advance “Scarlet Letter…The Musical” to Broadway while also encouraging the development of other Denver-area musical artists. Its principals include:

Melissa Faith Hart first had the idea of writing a musical to Hawthorne’s Scarlet when she was 19, while attending college in Boston, Massachusetts. "Be Still My Child" was the very first song for what has now become a full-fledged musical.

Ms. Hart began acting and singing in school, church plays and musicals, and then ventured out to local community theaters. Her acting experience includes the role as Maria in "West Side Story", Hermia in "Midsummer Night's Dream", Golde in "Fiddler on the Roof", Aunt Eller in "Oklahoma", and Cinderella in "Into the Woods".

A few of Ms. Hart’s favorite directing opportunities include "Chess", "Gypsy", and "Little Women". With her diverse background as an actress and a director, Ms. Hart is thrilled to once again be involved in theater to introduce the world to a new musical, telling a timeless classic tale, Hawthorne’s "Scarlet Letter."

Scarlet Letter…the Musical is Melissa Faith Hart’s life’s opus. As a career- driven woman who works by day at Xerox Corporation, by night in the theater and music world, she is also very blessed to be a mother herself and in many ways understands Hester’s road and drive for her daughter Pearl.
